goal:
Protect nearby neighbors and county road from potential landslide risk
The Skagit County Board of Commissioners is hosting a Closed Record Appeal Hearing on the DENIAL of the permit application to expand the Lake Erie Gravel Mine on Fidalgo Island. The county DENIED the permit after the applicant repeatedly refused to investigate the landslide risk that the mine’s groundwater could pose for shoreline neighborhoods. Evergreen Islands attorney, Kyle Loring, and the Sunset Lane neighborhood will reposed to the appeal at the hearing on Tuesday. Members and supporters are encouraged to attend. It is best to attend in person but if the is not an option, you can attend online through Zoom link.
